Marco Beach Things to do in Marco IslandDotting the waters of the Gulf of Mexico at the north-western tip of the Everglades National Park, Marco Island is the largest barrier island in Florida’s Ten Thousand Islands chain. Think white-sand beaches, tropical foliage, breath-taking marine life and a casual, easy-paced lifestyle. Featuring amazing beaches, fresh cuisine highlighting local seafood, and local marine and land tours, Marco Island has activities fit for all.
Marco Island is accessible by car via Collier Blvd from the north or Tamiami Trail/San Marco Road from the east. Ideally located on the southern tip of Marco Island, Marco Beach Vacation Suites is directly across a quiet street from our own private beach. We are about 10 minutes from Olde Marco, a charming cluster of small tin-roofed shops reminiscent of Florida days’ past where you can pick up a piece of island art or a perfect keep-sake to take home before grabbing a bite to eat at one of the many bistros and cafés. We are also close to several local restaurants, surf shops and tour outfits.
Marco Island AttractionsPerhaps Marco Island’s best attraction, the gorgeous white-sand beaches draw visitors from all over the world. But if you crave a more adventurous vacation, Marco Island has you covered. From kayak and small airboat tours to parasailing and luxury sailboat excursions, this island’s eco-tourism outfitters provide educational and fun coastal adventures. If you’re up for checking out the Everglades, arrange a fan boat tour to Everglades City.
Marco Island Watersports
Marco Island Watersports offers great marine adventure eco-tours by catamaran, Jet Ski and parasail so you can check out dolphins, manatees, sea turtles and exotic birds in their natural habitat.
Off The Hook Day Adventures
Set sail on a two- or three-hour cruise on a catamaran eco-tour with Off The Hook Day Adventures for a chance to get up close and personal with Florida’s marine life. Water and snacks are provided, and half-day charters are also available.
Hit the beach with a bucket or mesh bag to collect some of the ocean’s most gorgeous specimens, or make a day out of it with a Dolphin/Shelling Sunset Cruise on a 45-foot catamaran with Marco Island Water Sports. Here is a great shelling tip-list that will ensure a successful shelling excursion!

Eat & Shop In Naples
The lively shops and restaurants of downtown Naples’ 5th Avenue is just half an hour north of Marco Island. This strip is home to great entertainment options, many street festivals and lovely galleries. We recommend you also check out the Sun-N-Fun Lagoon while in the Naples area – this aquatic adventure zone is a cut above your average splash park playground! The park has five water slides, a lazy river and several splash pools for older kids and a “tadpole” wade pool with swings and a mini marine-themed water slide for smaller children.
